Our Mission
The Public Health Commute is an online curriculum that seeks to teach public health concepts in short, easily accessible units. It began with the desire to teach public health topics to medical students on their daily commute to the hospitals affiliated with Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. It has since become a learning tool for people of all ages and vocations.
This curriculum mirrors the clerkships and units of a traditional medical education. It was designed with the input of various medical school course directors to ensure relevance to clinical practice. And our teaching modules utilize talks, literature and games to make them engaging for all audiences.
This curriculum project is a work in progress, and feedback is always appreciated. The Public Health Commute seeks to teach and inspire. We hope you enjoy it!
